"Fallen Fruit - now here, now gone" is a solo performance by Katherina Radeva about building and destroying the walls between us, around us and imposed on us. Using two hundred small boxes and a microphone, the work takes the audience on a journey through love, childhood and breaking free.
The piece began as a response to the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Revisiting memories of growing up in her native Bulgaria before and after the fall of the Iron Curtain, the performance questions whether freedom is dependent on perceived imprisonment of any kind; whether walls both
protect and expose us; why are we so curious about the other side?"
